Privacy Policy for BesinPuan

This privacy policy explains how PByte handles information in BesinPuan.

Information We Collect

BesinPuan can process product label photos that you choose to scan. The app may collect the selected label image for analysis, structured product and ingredient analysis output, app/install metadata, scan history snapshots, monthly usage counts, pseudonymous monthly quota records, and AI token/cost records. BesinPuan does not access Apple Health data, location, or contacts.

Sign in with Apple is required before product scanning so monthly quota, scan history, and AI cost records can be associated with your app account. During the native Apple sign-in flow, BesinPuan requests your Apple email and full name for account display. Apple may provide those values only on first authorization or after you revoke and re-authorize the app. If provided, they are stored locally for account display only. The raw Apple account identifier is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device, and a one-way SHA-256 hash of that identifier may be sent to PByte's backend so scan history, quota, and AI cost records can be associated with your app account. A one-way hash of an app install identifier may also be used for abuse prevention and monthly free-quota enforcement.

AI and Food Label Processing

When you scan a label, the image you choose or capture is sent to PByte's Supabase Edge Function and then to Gemini to read product fields, ingredients, confidence values, and an informational score. Gemini API keys and database service credentials are kept on the server side and are not embedded in the app.

The product database stores structured analysis results, product and ingredient records, confidence values, model/version metadata, cache and token metrics, estimated AI cost, and a hash of the submitted image. BesinPuan does not store the raw label photo bytes in the product tables. Scores are informational only and are not medical, diet, treatment, diagnosis, nutrition, or food-safety advice.

Purchases and Usage Limits

BesinPuan uses StoreKit for its optional Premium subscription. Free users can scan a limited number of products per month; Premium unlocks additional scanning capacity. Purchase status is handled through the App Store. The app may send minimized subscription status metadata to the backend for usage attribution and cost monitoring.

Account Deletion

If you later choose Settings > Account > Delete Account > Delete Account and Data, BesinPuan sends your one-way account hash to the backend to delete your user profile, account-linked scan history, legacy monthly usage rows, and AI cost records. Product analysis rows may be retained only after removing the account link so they are not associated with your Apple account hash. A minimal pseudonymous monthly quota tombstone may be retained until the quota period or retention window closes, so deleting and reinstalling the app does not reset the monthly free scan allowance. The app then clears local history, local quota/cache, and the local Apple identity mapping.

TestFlight Feedback

When BesinPuan is distributed through TestFlight, testers may choose to send feedback from an in-app feedback button. If a tester submits feedback, the app may send the feedback text, dictated feedback text, a screenshot of the app screen, app version/build metadata, and a stable install identifier to PByte's private feedback storage. Microphone audio used for dictated feedback is transcribed by Apple Speech and is not stored by BesinPuan.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

BesinPuan does not use third-party advertising, tracking, attribution, or analytics SDKs.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. TestFlight feedback is used only to improve the app during internal testing.

Children's Privacy

BesinPuan is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page.
