PepperLog Privacy Policy

PepperLog is a privacy-first grow journal for pepper plants. The current app is designed for local, on-device logging and reference browsing without accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, or cloud sync.
Data We Collect
PByte does not collect data from PepperLog in the current version. The app does not send plant notes, harvest logs, cultivar searches, preferences, diagnostics, device identifiers, or usage events to PByte or to an analytics provider.
Data Stored On Your Device
PepperLog stores the grow journal information you enter on your device, such as plant names, cultivar selections, grow location tags, stages, check-in notes, harvest counts, harvest weights, personal heat ratings, selected plant timeline photos, and app preferences. This information remains local to your device unless you choose to share it using iOS features outside PepperLog.
Photos, Camera, And Permissions
PepperLog uses the iOS system photo picker when you choose to add an image to a plant timeline. The picker returns only the image you select. PepperLog copies that selected image and a thumbnail into app-private local storage and does not upload it. PepperLog may request local notification permission only if you enable weekly check-in reminders. The current PepperLog binary does not request camera access, Photos add-only access, or tracking permission.
Network, Analytics, And Tracking
PepperLog does not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, social SDKs, cloud AI services, account services, or external payment systems. PepperLog does not track you across apps or websites.
Backups And System Services
Apple system services, such as iCloud device backup or local encrypted device backup, may include PepperLog's local app data depending on your iOS settings. These backups are controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by PByte.
Reference Content
PepperLog includes horticulture reference information and generated reference visuals. Reference ranges, plant appearance, and heat values can vary by genetics and growing conditions. PepperLog is not medical, clinical, food safety, or professional agricultural advice.
Children's Privacy
PepperLog is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If PepperLog adds features that collect or transmit data, this policy and the App Store privacy answers will be updated before that version is released.
